Embrace the Sacredness of Utpanna Ekadashi

Falling on Krishna Paksha Ekdashi of Margashirsha month, Utpanna Ekadashi is a scared fast in Hindu religion. Going by historical literature, today is considered as the birth anniversary of Goddess Ekadashi who symbolises the way of spiritual path. The tradition has it that there was a giant demon called Mur who was disturbing the world and challenging justice. Lord Vishnu tried to defeat Mura in great aggression as he is unable to defeat Mura even with his might. At that juncture, in a flash of light, a beautiful woman welled up from Vishnu’s mind and easily kills the demon. She was named Utpanna Ekadashi and Vishnu granted her the capability rendering devotees free from sin through fasting on this day.
