Nitya seva
Nitya Seva at ISKCON Kurukshetra – The Eternal Service to the Lord
Lord Krishna states “To serve the deities with devotion and sincerity is the same as serving the Supreme Lord.” The easiest and most impactful way to serve the deities and in turn Lord is Nitya Seva. It’s the daily service that purifies your heart and elevates your soul. You attain spiritual growth and happiness in life.
Keeping the above guidance in mind by Lord Krishna, we at ISKCON Kurukshetra provide opportunities to the devotees to serve the Lord in their capacities through Nitya Seva. Look at it as the privilege to serve the king of Indraprastha!
About Nitya Seva
According to Srila Prabhupada, Nitya Seva contributes to your ‘spiritual earnings.’ Whatever you gain spiritually through the deity services and monetary donations is never lost, even at death. On the contrary, your materialistic gains and possessions of life are all lost when you die and thus accumulating only that is like doing hard work but for nothing at the end!
It is believed that whatever you offer as a part of Nitya Seva to the Lord gets purified and, in turn, receives many blessings and mercy from Lord Krishna. If you are a devotee and become a part of the Nitya Seva, then you should consider yourself extremely fortunate. However, all your contribution never goes in vain; it is everlasting. So take this opportunity of Nitya seva and make your daily life sublime.
How to Offer Nitya Seva?
SRILA PRABHUPADA says, “In pure devotional service, one realizes that God is great and that the individual soul is subordinate to Him. He must provide service to the Lord Krishna and if he does not do that, then he will render service to Maya”-Bhagwad Gita.
According to the Hindu Shastras, the essential services offered to the Lord Krishna include:
Mangala:
This is the early morning worship of the Lord, which includes waking Him up, bathing Him, dressing Him, and offering Him food and prayers.
